Robert Van de Weyer (born 4 December ) is an English writer and priest.

Early life

After leaving school Van de Weyer worked as a night porter in a brothel in London, and as a butler in a stately home in Yorkshire. He travelled overland to India, where he studied Hindu philosophy, and taught Maths in a village school.

He became Christian living in an ashram that regards Christ as the Guru.[1] He spent a year trekking across the mountains of Ethiopia visiting monasteries. [2]

Career

From he was warden of Little Gidding, creating a therapeutic community for adults with mental problems.[3] In that period he also taught Green Economics at Anglia Ruskin University, and published Wickwyn: a Vision of the Future, which won in the Winifred Mary Stanbrook Prize.[4] He was ordained priest in the Church of England in , and served as un
