Hemlata is an Indian playback singer who has mainly performed in Hindi films.
She was born in Hyderabad, India, on August 16, 1954. Early in the 1970s, Hemlata began her singing career. She later rose to prominence as one of the top female playback singers during the 1970s and 1980s.
She has performed songs in a variety of Indian languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati, and Malayalam.
